CANCELED - Transatlantic Relationship after the US-Presidential Election: A New Path or Business as Usual?

Harald Leibrecht - Member of German Parliament and Coordinator of Transatlantic Cooperation in the Federal Foreign Office

Mr. Harald Leibrecht will discuss the more recent shift in attention of the US government and public opinion toward the Asia-Pacific region, in light of Europe still being its closest political and economical partner. Mr. Leibrecht will offer a German assessment of the future of transatlantic relations and the policy options available to American and European leaders.

Mr. Harald Leibrecht has been a Member of the German Parliament since October 2002 and.  Coordinator for Transatlantic Cooperation in Germany’s Foreign Office since July 2011. He is deputy chair of the sub-committee on International Cultural and Educational Affairs; a member of the committee on Economic Cooperation and Development and a substitute member of the Foreign Affairs Committee. He studied international business administration in France, Germany, the UK, and the USA.
