Educator Outreach

The Center for International Studies (CIS) provides resources and services not only to the university community but to the general public and, in particular, to K-12 students and teachers. Most of the events and programs sponsored by CIS and its affiliated centers and programs are free and open to the public; information on our programs and events is advertised widely and made publicly available on our online events calendar. In addition, the Center for International Studies and affiliated area studies centers provide a variety of specialized programs and resources to K-12 students and teachers. These programs are aimed at fostering knowledge of a wide range of international topics and issues.

CIS and area centers maintain contact with local and regional networks of educators and scholars and work with teachers at all levels to provide educational resources and services. Individual centers' outreach offices publish newsletters, sponsor workshops, host various cultural events, lend audio-visual resources, and host seminars and talks on a wide range of topics pertaining to their geographic area of study. International Studies takes a leading role in collaborative programs between multiple centers and outside constituencies as well.
